We are André and Danny, two former colleagues with a shared passion for golf. We play at different levels, but we run into the same challenge: golf is sometimes elusive. One day everything seems to come by itself, while a day later the game appears to have vanished completely.
During a round that is exactly what happened. One of us was playing visibly worse than the day before. The frustration grew, and eventually a simple but powerful question landed.
„Yesterday I struck the ball beautifully. Today nothing works. What am I doing differently?”
We went looking for tools that could help golfers understand this kind of difference.
What we found, and why it did not fit
We soon discovered that plenty of golf analysis apps already exist. They use cameras, sensors and complex data to analyse your swing. But almost all of them share the same starting point: comparing your swing with a theoretical ideal, or with the swing of professional golfers.
For many recreational golfers that feels complicated and often discouraging. Because the reality is that no two golfers are the same.
Build
Flexibility
Physical range
Motor skills
What is a perfect movement for a tour professional need not be achievable, or even desirable, for an amateur.
The idea that changed everything
What if we did not compare golfers with a theoretical ideal? What if we compared golfers with their own best swing?
Because if a golfer has ever made an excellent shot, one fact is beyond dispute: their body is capable of performing that movement. Perhaps not always, but demonstrably.
Instead of asking
„Why don't I swing like a professional?”
we want to answer
„What am I doing differently today than when I made my best shot?”
Jos, and why progress has to be visible
To develop the idea further we brought golf professional Jos into the initiative. From his daily practice he saw the value of this approach immediately.
During lessons he constantly sees golfers making steps forward without always being aware of it. When he puts old videos next to recent recordings, the progress is often immediately visible. The player may still feel the same uncertainties, but the footage shows something else.
What the footage does show
- More control
- More balance
- More consistency
- More confidence
Feeling progress is hard.
Seeing progress is powerful.
That is why SwingIQ does not only help analyse a single swing, but also makes development visible over a longer period. As a golfer takes lessons, gains experience and becomes more consistent, their best swing changes too. The reference point grows with the player. So SwingIQ does not compare you with a static norm, but with the best version of yourself at that moment.
Golf happens on the course, not behind a laptop
We wanted to build something that works not only on the driving range or at home behind a laptop. Golf happens in the middle of play, at exactly the moment the questions arise.
Picture it: the 12th
The first nine holes went well, but suddenly nothing feels familiar. You ask a playing partner for a short video of your swing. Within moments SwingIQ compares the recording with your personal reference swing, and you get clear points of attention to take straight into your next shot.
- No complicated biomechanical reports
- No comparison with a tour player
- No technical information only experts can use
But practical insight, based on a movement you have demonstrably been able to make yourself.
What we believe
- 1
Golfers learn more from their own successes than from a comparison with an unreachable ideal.
- 2
Technology should help golfers understand themselves better.
- 3
Real progress happens where data, personal development and expert guidance come together.
Our vision for the future
SwingIQ began as an idea for comparing swings more intelligently, but we see that as only the first step.
In future we want to make the analyses steadily more valuable, more personal and more intelligent. By combining artificial intelligence with the practical experience of golf professionals, we are building a platform that not only shows what changes, but also helps you understand why those changes happen.
We do not believe technology replaces the pro.
We believe technology strengthens the pro.
By making analyses, progress measurements, historical comparisons and personal insight available, the professional gains more context to guide golfers effectively. At the same time the golfer gains more insight into their development and more confidence in the learning process. That creates a stronger partnership between golfer and coach, supported by objective data and personal expertise.
Our ambition is to build a platform in which every golfer can follow their progress, understand their successes and improve step by step within their own possibilities.
Golf is not about copying a professional.
It is about discovering the best version of yourself.
SwingIQ does not help golfers play like someone else. SwingIQ helps golfers understand why they play at their best, and how to get there more often.
