Golfer profile: height and handedness

Name, gender, height and handedness per golfer — and what the app does with them.

The golfer profile describes the person who swings, not the account. Every golfer on your account has one.

Where to find it

With one golfer on your account, these fields are in Settings under Golfer profile. With several golfers you open the profile with the pencil next to the names on Today; at the top you then choose who it's about.

The fields

  • Name — must be unique on your account.
  • Gender — can be left empty. The app only uses it to pick an average height if you don't enter a height.
  • Height (cm) — between 100 and 230. If you enter nothing, the app uses an average; the field shows which number that is.
  • Left- or right-handed — which side you swing from.

Don't forget to save.

Why it matters

  • Height determines, during the scan, how far you are from the camera and where the ball should be: the app compares your height in the image with your real height. With the right height, the ball ring and the distance saved with the recording are correct.
  • Handedness determines which side the app treats as the front of your body. In the 3D view, angles and lines are mirrored accordingly.

A changed height or handedness takes effect from the next recording and the next view; earlier recordings are not recalculated.

Good to know

  • The first golfer on your account is your own profile. You can simply edit it here.
  • A height outside the range is rejected, not rounded: otherwise a typo would be treated as a measurement.
