Your phone stands a few metres away from you, so you can't read the guidance at the bottom very well. With spoken guidance, the phone says out loud what it says: Move left, Move closer, Hold it level … and Perfect when it's right.
Turning it on
- On the screen itself: tap the speaker at the top right. Yellow means on.
- In the settings: Settings → Audio cues while recording.
It's the same setting; the button on the screen remembers your choice for next time. It's off by default: sound on the range is something you turn on yourself.
What you hear
- Every new piece of guidance is spoken straight away. The same guidance repeats at most every few seconds.
- When everything is in order, you hear two rising tones and then Perfect, once. After that it stays quiet until something changes.
- On the recording screen, the countdown gives a tick every second and a longer tone just before the recording starts.
The guidance is spoken in the language of the app.
Good to know
The phone stays silent during the recording itself. Sound from the phone would end up in the recording, and the app listens in the recording precisely for the sound of the ball being struck.
