Under Permissions you see whether SwingIQ may use your camera and microphone.
- Camera — needed to scan and record. Without the camera you can't capture a swing in the app.
- Microphone — needed to record the sound of the ball strike. SwingIQ uses it to determine the moment of impact more accurately than from the picture alone. Without a microphone, recording still works, but the analysis is less precise.
Turning it on
Turn the switch on. If your phone has never asked for permission, that question appears now. If you refused before, the app opens the system settings, because that's the only place where you can undo a refusal.
Turning it off
An app can't withdraw its own permission. If you turn the switch off, SwingIQ takes you to your phone's system settings; you turn the permission off there. Back in the app, the switch follows.
Good to know
- If a switch is greyed out, this device doesn't have that capability (for example a tablet without a camera).
- The camera is only on during the scan and recording screens, the microphone only while recording.
