Countdown and recording

The round button, the countdown, when to stop and what happens next.

This is the screen where the camera actually records. One swing per recording: take your position, hit, and stop.

How it goes

  1. Countdown. By default, the app counts down and then starts recording by itself. The number appears large on the screen; with Cancel you stop the countdown and the recording stays off.
  2. Recording. At the top right there's a red REC sign and the round button at the bottom is red. Make your swing.
  3. Stopping. Tap the round button as soon as the swing is done. You automatically go on to check the recording.

If the app isn't counting down, or you stopped the countdown, the round button is green. Tap it to start yourself.

Length of a recording

  • After two minutes, the recording stops by itself and is not saved. That way a forgotten recording never runs for minutes on end.
  • Keep it short: step into view, hit, and stop. That also makes processing fastest.

Sound

The app records sound and uses the crack of the ball strike to find the moment of impact precisely. If that doesn't work, you'll see it on the screen after stopping. The recording is still usable then, but the moment of impact may be slightly off. Keep the microphone clear, for example not in a case that covers it.

Good to know

  • With the arrow at the top left, you go back to the scan. A recording in progress is discarded then.
  • If you come back from the check with Retake, the app doesn't count down again; you start yourself with the green button.
  • The app records at the highest frame rate your phone allows. If that fails once, a message appears under the recording.

During the countdown, your phone's back button does the same as Cancel, and during a recording it does the same as the round button: it stops the recording and takes you to the check.
