What is a best shot?

Your own example per club, and why SwingIQ compares you with that and not with someone else.

A best shot is one of your own swings that you choose as your example. SwingIQ places every new swing with the same club next to that example and shows where it differs.

Why your own swing?

SwingIQ does not compare you with a tour player or with an average. Your body, your club and your way of hitting are the starting point. The question is always: what did you do differently today compared to when it went well?

That is why a difference is not a mistake. It is a place where your swing today was different from your example.

One per club

  • You have one best shot per club: driver, irons, hybrid, wedges, woods and putter each have their own example.
  • If your account has several golfers, each golfer has their own best shots.
  • A swing is only compared with the best shot for the same club and the same golfer.

Without a best shot

If a club has no best shot yet, there is nothing to compare with. Your swings with that club are still processed and you can watch them back, but you do not get a match or advice yet. As soon as you choose a best shot, they are added after all.

An example that grows with you

Your best shot is not fixed forever. If a newer swing shows better how you want to hit, you choose that one as your new example. Do that with care: an example that stays in place for a while shows your progress most clearly.

SwingIQ helps you with that: a swing that is closer to the theory of the eight steps than your best shot can be waiting for you as a candidate. The choice is always yours.
