What happens when I change my best shot?

What happens to your comparisons and advice when you choose a different best shot.

Your best shot is the example all your swings with that club are compared to. If you choose a different one, the example changes — and with it everything SwingIQ says about your other swings with that club.

What changes

  • All comparisons for that club are made again. The match and the advice you saw before belonged to your old best shot. They are discarded.
  • Your newest swings are ready again quickly. The 25 most recent swings with that club are compared again right away. That can take a moment.
  • Older swings follow when you open them. When you open an older swing, its comparison is made again at that moment; it takes a little while before it appears.
  • The match can turn out higher or lower. That says nothing about the swing itself: it has not changed, only the example it is placed next to.
  • The candidate for that club lapses. If a candidate for your best shot was waiting with your swings, your choice has settled it. After that, SwingIQ looks again whether a swing is closer to the theory of the eight steps than your new best shot.

What does not change

  • Your videos and swings stay exactly as they are.
  • Your old best shot simply stays in your list, now as an ordinary swing.
  • best shots for other clubs and for other golfers are not affected.

Removing the star

If you remove the star without choosing a new one, your previous best shot for that club comes back by itself. If there was no previous one, that club has no example for a while: new swings then get no comparison and no advice until you choose a best shot again.

Your storage

The video of a best shot does not count towards your storage limit. After a change, the video of your old best shot counts again and the new one no longer does. So the number of free places can shift by one. If the change puts you above your maximum, what is described under storage: what counts? applies: overnight the oldest video is set aside until you are back under it.

Without a connection

If you change it without a connection, you see the new star right away. The comparisons are correct again only after the app has been able to sync.

When should you change it?

Change it when a newer swing shows better how you want to hit — not after every good ball. An example that stays in place for a while shows your progress most clearly.
