The app is built to work on the course, where reception is often poor. That's why it fetches everything from your account to your phone and keeps what you do without a connection, to send it later. Without a connection you see You're working offline at the top of Today.
What just works
- Viewing. Every swing that has already been synced to your phone: the video, the lines, the steps, the comparison and the advice.
- Recording. Scanning, recording and reviewing work fully. The recording waits in the queue and is sent as soon as there's a connection; only then does the analysis start.
- Choosing a best shot and deleting a swing. You see it immediately; the app carries it out on the server as soon as it can. Percentages and advice that depend on a new best shot are only right after that.
- Making marks. These go in the queue too.
- Switching between golfers and the figures on Today, based on what's on the phone.
What needs a connection
- Signing in and logging out and back in.
- Sharing: sending, withdrawing, accepting or declining a request.
- Having a 3D model made, reprocessing, and new advice after a language change.
- What has been added since last time on another device or on the site — that comes with the next sync.
The queue
Everything you did offline is lined up in the order you did it — including freeing up room if you chose to replace with a full archive. As soon as the app sees a connection, it works through the queue. If you close the app, the queue stays; also after logging out, with your account.
If the server still rejects something — for example a recording while your archive filled up in the meantime — it stays in the queue until there's room. A recording is never lost.
Good to know
- Syncing from the server to your phone runs every quarter of an hour while the app is open, and when you sign in. With some subscriptions you can also start it yourself; see sync now.
- A connection that exists but lets nothing through (such as hotel wifi with a login page) is treated by the app as no connection.
- This help is fetched once a day; what you've already read stays available without a connection.
